Information Technology Infrastructure in Support of Command and Control

Project Type

Project Replace

Objective

The Information Technology Infrastructure (ITI) in Support of Command and Control (ITI in Sp of C2) project will provide secure, disruption tolerant, information exchange capability, employing technology that is interoperable with our Joint, Interagency, Multinational and Public partners, which can be readily evolved to meet future challenges. The project will replace the existing Consolidated Secret Network Infrastructure (CSNI), and the numerous single purpose classified networks across the Department of National Defence and Canadian Armed Forces (DND/CAF), increasing the ability to use, maintain, protect, upgrade and defend the ITI, and bolstering effective command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) at all levels, spanning across security classifications and caveats. This investment contributes to the realization of the Military Integrated Information Infrastructure (MI3) described in the Canadian Armed Forces C4ISR Strategic Vision, Goals and Objectives.

Requirements

The Information Technology Infrastructure in Support of Command and Control project (ITI in Sp of C2) will modernize and enhance DND/CAF ITI in order to address identified deficiencies and to position the enterprise to address future challenges. The modernized ITI will be more efficient and responsive, and will enable more effective execution of command and control at all levels.
