Objective

To replace and modernize selected legacy secure radio equipment within the Department of National Defence that is approaching cryptographic End of Life and replace those existing legacy capabilities in inventory for which modern replacements are most urgently required.

Requirements

The modernized replacement devices will make Canadian Armed Forces radio communications more secure and provide greater opportunities for secure interoperability with our allies. This sub-project will modernize the Department of National Defence's mission critical cryptographic capabilities used in Canadian Armed Forces radio-borne (not cellular telephone / smart-phone) voice communications. These cryptographic capabilities will provide radio-borne secure voice communications for Canadian Army, Royal Canadian Air Force, Royal Canadian Navy and Canadian Special Operations Force Command Elements deployed on behalf of the Canadian Government in domestic operations and international partnerships.
