The FFCP will provide the mandated Government of Canada aerospace and force employment capabilities necessary to apply airpower in multi-role operations, both nationally and internationally. On 23 July 2019, the Government of Canada released the formal Request for Proposal for 88 advanced fighter jets. This milestone was achieved after more than 18 months of engagement with industry and eligible suppliers.
