Canadian Multi-Mission Aircraft

Project Type

Project Replace

Objective

To equip the Canadian Armed Forces with a long-range, long-endurance, multi-mission capability, optimized in Command, Control, Communications and Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR), Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) and Anti-Surface Warfare (ASuW) to replace the CP140.

Requirements

Canada’s adversaries are deploying increasingly sophisticated, stealthy, and lethal capabilities in the surface and subsurface domains. The Canadian Armed Forces has an urgent need for a long-range, long-endurance platform, capable of providing C4ISR, ASW and ASuW in a high-threat environment with the ability to engage/control and to fully integrate with other assets. The Canadian Multi-Mission Aircraft project will provide the capability required to effectively support Canada’s strategic requirements for C4ISR, ASW and ASuW at home as well as to support Canada’s interests abroad. Canada’s large size necessitates an aircraft with long-range and loiter times to ensure the platform can transit to operating areas and remain on station for sufficient time.
