Hi, I'm a Grade 4 student, and I just wanted to say thank you for keeping Canada safe. I am thankful for all the things you did in Canada to keep us safe from war. Thank you very much for working hard and keeping us away from war, and thank you for helping keep peace.I wear a poppy on Remembrance Day, and I put my head down for silence and try to remember Remembrance Day. I’m thankful for all the sacrifices that the soldiers did and also the ones who got injured. I like the safety in Canada. I feel safe because all the soldiers in Canada protect the country and they're really strong. I am really grateful for what you did and all the sacrifices that the soldiers did. We will always remember your courage. From a Grade 4 Student

Dear Veteran, I am a grade 4 student at St. Stephen’s Catholic School, and I would like to say thank you for protecting Canada and saving us all! We all owe you this thanks for saving us all, and even though you had to leave your families, you still chose to save us all and that makes me grateful. To all those who have died, I'm grateful for all you've done for us. You tried your best, you made a big difference. Every year, me and my family get together on Remembrance Day and we would buy a bunch of poppies. Then we have a big dinner, and we are so grateful for my grandpa because he was a soldier and he survived. So every year we have a big dinner to remember. I just can't believe some of you gave your lives. So I'm very grateful and thankful that I'm still standing and breathing on this planet because of you. I am so grateful and thankful that I'm breathing on this planet right now and I just can't believe some of you risked your lives for us and the sacrifice you made for us and everything. So we owe you a huge thank you. Thank you again for your courage and sacrifice. We will never forget what you’ve done for us. From a Grade 4 Student, St. Stephen’s Catholic School Sincerely, Sofia.

Hi there, I’m in grade 4 from St. Stephen. I’m sending this to a soldier for Remembrance Day to thank you for all the things you did for us. Thank you for your sacrifice so we can live in peace. You gave up so much for us, and that means a lot. It takes a huge amount of courage to go to war, like in World War I and II. I admire your bravery for facing such difficult times. I thank all veterans because you helped so many people live in peace. I also learned about veterans like John McCrae, who wrote “In Flanders Fields” to help us remember your sacrifices. It makes me sad that people like you had to do so many things for us. On Remembrance Day, I stand quietly for 2 minutes of silence and listen to “In Flanders Fields” at school. Doing this helps me remember and honour you and all veterans. These acts are very important because we want to thank you. From Krishnav.

I am a grade four student in Stittsville, and I want to say thank you for keeping Canada safe. I am grateful for you because you are always there to fight for our lives. It’s very nice that you use your life to help us. I know your family must miss you a lot when you go away to fight for Canada, but I hope they are proud of your courage. At my school, we gather together for Remembrance Day. Students give presentations and we all talk about you—how you guys are very important for our lives. We remember that you are always there for us, and we feel grateful. One thing I love about living in Canada is that I feel safe because of you. We never have to worry about things that could happen, because you protect us. Thank you for everything you have done, and I hope you have a safe rest of your life. Good luck. From a Grade 4 Student
