thank you for all of the hard work, time effort and commitment you give to our community and country.

Jastine - 08/11/2023

Hi, my name is Jastine and I'm a highschool student in edmonton. Honestly I don't exactly know how to show my appreciation but I'll try to express it through this message. Each and every individual contributing to protecting our homes and families deserves high praise because I can't even fathom the burden of having the safety of my country on my shoulders. To stand in the face of such a daunting task is truly inspiring and soon my cousin will also be facing that same thing. All of you genuinely blow my mind and to even think that all of you are putting all this dedication into protecting random strangers like me brings a tear to my eye. Thank you all for everything you've done and please know that everyone's lives are better because of you.

Lana Farrell - 08/11/2023

Dear Canadian Armed Forces and Veterans, Thank you for all that you have done and continue to do for our country. I am so fortunate to be able to wake up everyday in a safe place, go to a job I enjoy as a teacher, and me able to come home to people I love. I hope the world becomes a better place and that we never forget. Sincerely, Lana Farrell

Jamie - 08/11/2023

Dear all Veterans, My name is Jamie. I'm 15 years old, and I'm a high school student at Jasper Place High School. I was born in Washington DC, but I grew up in Ireland. I usually spend my time out of school by walking around Downtown Edmonton. We Edmontonians are eternally grateful for your services. We are thankful for all of you putting your lives on the line so that we can see another day. Because of that, we all will be able to develop further as people under the Canadian flag. Before you finish reading this I want to share a wish. My wish is that everyone who went through service will be gifted with limitless peace, prosperity, tranquility, and grace. We will always remember you. Now please rest. In Flanders Fields.

Dear Veteran, thank you for everything you have done to serve our country. Thank you for protecting my freedoms and risking your life. On November 11th I take the time to recognize and show respect for the families, and soldiers that were effected by the war. I hope that someday there will be peace every where in the world and i hope that one day everyone will have freedoms like an education and celebrating all types of traditions. This will never be possibly without everything you do/did for Canada.

Yalda Akbari - 08/11/2023

Dear soldier, I would like to immensely thank you, for not only risking your life to grant us the freedom but the rights and the voices that are granted to the younger generation. As a young girl who fled her country at a young age, words cannot describe how grateful I am for people like you, soldiers like you, veterans like you that has been deployed in Afghanistan and helped the civilians there. As a Afghan refugee, I wish you all the success life gives you, as you have given me all the access to an education. So I say to you thanks in all the languages I am able to speak, for the sacrifices and the contributions you have done for me, for us. I will never forget how hard soldiers, veterans and any armed officers risk their lives everyday for the younger generation of Canadians, for the older generation of Canadians, for us all. So here I say Thank you, Merci, Tashakur, Gracias, Shukriya, Dhanyavaad.

Thank you so much for the work that you do, I know my country would not be as safe a place to live if it were not for you and the sacrifices you make on a daily basis and for that I am so grateful. I am praying for you and your safety as you fight for our country and know that God is with you and will be with you every step of the way. :) “Be strong and courageous. Lotus - 08/11/2023

To everyone who has died for Canada: I hope it was something you chose, or something you were willing to choose. I hope you gave your life for something or someone you believed in. I hope you left more joy in the world than grief. I acknowledge that however noble or worthwhile anyone's death might be, it is a tragedy. I hope that we remember you long after we forget what you were fighting for, that when no one cares about nations, or armies, or flags, they will care about you, and who you were, and who you could have been.

Aish - 08/11/2023
