Dear beloved solder,
I wanted to write to tell you how much we appreciate your hard work and bravery.
My name is Gabriella and I'm 11 years old. I go to school at Oak hill in Bon Accord, Aberta.
One thing I like to do is play with my sisters back at home in Fox Creek. Also, I like taking a nap when I can but I don't do it often. The last thing I like to do is be with my bff’s.
I have a question for you, what inspired you to become a soldier? We’re all thinking of you and wishing you well.
Thank you for your time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sincerely,
Gabriella

Dear Canadian soldier,
I wanted to write to tell you how much we appreciate your hard work and bravery. We learned about the first world war in school for the past week. And it made us think of how brave you are!
My name is Averry Garrison, I'm in grade 6, I go to Oakhill school in Bon Accord.
I like to build with lego, explore nature and sometimes my friends and I pretend to be cadets. Do you miss Canada? I’ve never left Canada or even Alberta, what’s it like where you are, is it different from Canada?
I hope you are staying safe. Me and my class are all thinking of you, and we are so grateful for everything you're doing. You're a true hero!
With gratitude,
Averry

In Flanders Fields
By John McCrae
In flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row
That mark our place and in the sky
The larks still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below
We are the Dead short days ago
We lived felt dawn saw sunset glow
Loved and were loved and now we lie
In flanders fields
Take up our quarrel with the foe
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch. be yours to hold it high
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep though poppies grow
In flanders fields

Thank you, I truly can't thank you enough for everything you've done. Thank you for your service, thank you for making me not scared to go to school knowing there are people like you actively risking your life so I can have this freedom. So that everyone in Canada can have that freedom. I know you think one person cant make much of a difference, but believe me when I say you truly have and will continue to long after you gone. We don't know each other personally but I'm so proud of you for what you have done for our country and if I could have one wish, it would be to turn out even half as great as you and all the men and woman that have served.

Dear, Canadian Armed Forces Member
My name is Emma and I'm in grade 7. I am so eternally grateful for your service. I can't imagine not knowing if you'll make it to the next day or if you're ever going to see your family again. As a person with a previous family member of the military, I've heard first hand of how brutal the training is and how hard you have to fight just for our country and also how you don't know if you will see your friends. You don't know how much everyone in the world appreciates your sacrifices. Thank you so much for everything you do. Some questions I have are: what type of food do you eat? Like bagged food or do you have a private chef? And are your beds comfortable? Lastly do you get your own rooms? That is all goodbye!

Dear Veteran,
Thank you for joining the military and putting your life on the line. It means a lot in our country. Also thank you for stepping up when someone was stepping down and missing millstones. It can be hard to miss millstones like weddings, baby showers, and family gatherings. I’m thankful for playing with my friends after school and if it wasn’t for you guys, I would be playing with my friends every day. Whoever gets this message I hope you stay safe and strong.
-Sincerely Grade 8 student
