Dear soldiers,
I am really grateful for all the work you have done to protect our country. You have been away from your families for a long time whitout knowing when and if you will ever see them again and it must require a lot of courage. You worked hard to become strong and powerful and you never give up to protect our country. I wanted to tell you thank you for all the effort you have made. I hope you are proud of yourself.

Hi there, I’m in grade 4 from St. Stephen. I’m sending this to a soldier for Remembrance Day to thank you for all the things you did for us.
Thank you for your sacrifice so we can live in peace. You gave up so much for us, and that means a lot. It takes a huge amount of courage to go to war, like in World War I and II. I admire your bravery for facing such difficult times. I thank all veterans because you helped so many people live in peace. I also learned about veterans like John McCrae, who wrote “In Flanders Fields” to help us remember your sacrifices. It makes me sad that people like you had to do so many things for us.
On Remembrance Day, I stand quietly for 2 minutes of silence and listen to “In Flanders Fields” at school. Doing this helps me remember and honour you and all veterans. These acts are very important because we want to thank you.
From Krishnav.

Dear veteran
I am a Grade 4 student from Stittsville, and I am writing this letter to thank you for risking your life to keep Canada safe. Thank you for missing time with your family to help protect us. Thank you for caring about people in Canada and around the world.
I wear a poppy and, at school, we go to the gym and have a moment of silence. I feel grateful that you fight to keep Canada safe.
I am happy that I live in Canada because I feel that it is a safe community. I know Canada is a safe community because of people like you who protect it.
Thank you again for everything you have done for our country. We will never forget what you did for Canada.

It’s very nice that you use your life to help us. I know your family must miss you a lot when you go away to fight for Canada, but I hope they are proud of your courage.
At my school, we gather together for Remembrance Day. Students give presentations and we all talk about you—how you guys are very important for our lives. We remember that you are always there for us, and we feel grateful.
One thing I love about living in Canada is that I feel safe because of you. We never have to worry about things that could happen, because you protect us.

I am a grade 4 student from Stittsville St. Stephen's Catholic School and I am very, very thankful for what you do to save us all.
Thank you for being brave and protecting Canada to help us have a better life in Canada. Thank you for everything you did, even when it was hard.
I wear a poppy and stand quietly during the two minutes of silence to remember you and show respect. I feel kind of sad that some of you died in war.
What I love most about living in Canada is that you gave it freedom so that Canada would be safe. Now everyone can be free and play outside and have fun. I love to play outside at the park close to my house.
Thank you for keeping us safe.
