Dear Armed Forces,
As Remembrance Day nears, I think about you. I know how that sounds, that I only think about our armed forces when the day to remember nears, but this doesn't show the real truth. I live with safety, and breathe Canada’s air freely because of the work you do. You do your job so well that I don't have to worry, You sacrifice what no other would, and to that I bow my head and say thank you. I cannot express my appreciation in words. You are the heroes of the country. The bravery you show, that hard work and dedication never goes unseen. I pray for your safety and your family’s too. Thank you for your service:)

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to look at Canadians messages. First of all, thank you for your service. I wanted to be a little unique with this message, to hopefully make a noticeable impact. My name is Ella and I'm 19 years old. While I know many people that are troops, it's rare that I have the opportunity to talk to them directly about their service. I have always wondered what drove you to join the Canadian Forces. Of course there are so many aspects I understand and admire, but that I mean is maybe there's one reason that stands out to you. Whatever it is, I love and respect you for it. If things ever get hard remember why you do it. Also remember the love and compassion Canadians have for you. Not a day goes by where you aren't appreciated. I mean that with the deepest sincerity and admiration. Thank you for your service, I'm always thinking of you.

To the members of the department of National Defence,
I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge all that you have done for the country and hopefully take an opportunity to put a smile on your face. Sometimes when life gets so busy and daunting, you need a second to laugh. Can February March? No, but April May. What did the sushi say to the bee? Wasabee! I hope these made you smile and maybe even let out a little chuckle. Thank you for what you have done for our country and it is never taken for granted.

Solider,
You are so amazing. And you most likely don't often get words of affirmation, so I thought I would tell you some. You are brave. You are kind. You are selfless. You are disciplined. You are amazing. You are capable. You are heroic. You are the reason why we are able to live our lives. You are the reason why I am able to wake up every day and feel safe. Your compassion for our country and determination to serve makes us all feel more as peace. You are the people that little kids look up to as real world heros, not Superman or Spiderman, but the brave men and women serving our nation. We should take more time to appreciate you. Thank you for your service. God Bless you.

Thank you for your kindness, bravery, and non-stop efforts. Without your sacrifices Canada would not be the country it is today. Thank for bringing home all the injured soldier you can, and for protecting all of us back home. Your strength is inspiring. You are a hero, and I am proud to be a Canadian because of all of your efforts. Wearing a poppy represents to me the never ending sacrifices you all everyday. I feel so proud when I wear a poppy, or sing the national anthem. You are all I think about when I tell someone I am from Canada. You are the reason Canada is such a well perceived country. Thank you for continuing to fight even when it is difficult. You are so important, I hope you understand how appreciated you are in our nation.

Some of my clearest memories from middle school and elementary school were during our ceremonies for Remembrance Day. I think this day and the way schools implement it solidifies the importance of those who served so well. Ever since I was young, I have remembered the stories told, the pictures shown, and the songs sung in honour of you and those who lost their lives serving. It's such an important day to think of your guys and everyone serving their lives for our safety and prosperity.
You are such amazing and important people, and I hope you remember that every single day.
Prophecy Christiansen - 06/11/2025
Solider, you are the reason why I am here today. You are the reason why I am able to go to school, be safe, be with my loved ones, and trust that I will not be in a war torn country. You are the reason why my dad, brother, and boyfriend are able to stay home safely rather than be drafted: because you instead have volunteered your life. Your bravery is unmatched, and there is never a day that you get taken for granted. You are ALWAYS on our thoughts, don't ever think for a second that you aren't noticed or appreciated. God bless you, and we love you always. Your courage to continue to serve through uncertainty and fear is what makes our country so strong as a nation. And you, yes, YOU reading this, YOU are the reason why I can sleep peacefully at night. We love you so much.

To the veteran that is no longer in service and may feel forgotten -- thank you, truly. Although you may not be in active service, you have contributed to making Canada a brighter place, a place that so many citizens like myself are proud to call home. You may feel forgotten, but we carry you in our hearts and our poppies on November 11, this year, and moving forward. Regardless of whether you feel your sacrifices were big or small, that you were high ranking or never quite made it up there, you matter. Your work matters. What you spent your life on matters. Although I will never know your name, you are seen. Thank you! Canada appreciates you!

Dear Armed Forces,
I do not know what it feels like to be in your shoes. I do not know what it feels like to find home in a new location ever so often, far away from family and friends. What I do know is that I am so incredibly lucky to be with my family and friends because of the work you do on the borders. I cannot describe how truly grateful I am for all that you have done, for all of your sacrifices. Today I thank you for your strength, for being strong when we can’t, for getting out of bed when we're too tired, and for being everything that we have not been able to be. I pray for your safety, and I hope that you get to see your loved ones soon.
Thank you
Catherine N - 06/11/2025
If your heart is ever frozen and feeling uneasy or unconvinced about the impact of your work, I hope the light of hope finds you and reminds you that there are millions who are safer today only because you decided to protect them. Safer because you made one of the toughest choices anyone could make and stuck to it. Safer because you managed to get out of bed everyday and do more that you had done in the last.
For those who are no longer with us, I can only hope and pray that our thanks reach them as well, and that they rest peacefully knowing that their sacrifice was not in vain. May their memories live on and be carried by the wind never to be forgotten. I hope their families find solace in the idea of millions of lives saved thanks to the sacrifices of every fallen soldier.
