Hello! I'm Rhone, pronunciation in my name above! I go to Heritage Academy, I'm in sixth-grade and my Birthday is Nov 17th, 2014! This Monday, speaking of which! Tomorrow, Remembrance day, I hear some soldier [I think, that's what my old school did last year] is coming to this school. I think it would be nice to meet one again, as I had thought it was nice to meet one at the time. Anyways, not sure what else to say, heh! So this is the end, Thanks for reading! ;3 (typed all by hand, by Rhone MacEwen, a ten year old)

Dear veterans, I thank you guys for protecting and saving our country from wars back then and from now. Because of all of your guy's courage and selflessness our country has stayed safe from wars and having to run away to a different country just to stay safe. And I'm grateful for that and also that veterans sacrifice their lives and limbs for both us and our country. So thank all the veterans for all the work you've done for the country we all appreciate the sacrifices. sincerely, Ora

My family immigrated here from the US. I am grateful that I am able to stay here safely. I am grateful for Canada. For the classroom I am writing this in, my health, and the wellbeing of the people whom surround me. I am grateful that I can look outside the window to see the falling of the snow, the gentle blowing of the wind, and the peers of mine, safe, protected. I am grateful for the words that I may speak, the sentences I may write, and that I may do these things without the lingering worry of prosecution. I am grateful for the laws, the land, the food that I can arrive home to. I am grateful for you. I am grateful for your sacrifices.
Thank you, 2 words with so much meaning behind them, thank you for defending our land, thank you for maintaining peace, but most of all… Thank you for taking the risk to defend our beautiful country. Thank you for willingly serving, thank you for taking the risk, that may never be paid back in full. Everyday you wake up hoping you can change this country, and you are. With every step you take, every breath you exhale. You can know, you changed someone, you made a difference. You push aside your differences, and hope for the best everyday. If you are reading this, know everyone appreciates you, after they learn the sacrifices you took to make this happen. Continue to teach others about our wondrous history, and country, you will make a difference. I’m sure of it! From the wonderful community of W.H. Morden PS Thank you.
Dear Veteran, thank you for your service and keeping our country safe. It takes a lot of bravery to make all the sacrifices you have made for Canada. Your bravery shows that you're a good person. With gratitude, Jemma
Hearing the people's sorrows and tears, falling onto the ground made me feel sorry and heartbreaking, knowing someone joined the army. Sacrificing their life, leaving family members, especially leaving their very own future that they could have, enjoying with their loved ones. However, they never were forced to join the army --being dragged around to join the army, even if you were terrified or fought back for your only chance of living-- they CHOSE to join the army. Never have I seen such bravery to join a group where it could lead to your very own death. Never have I seen such determination fighting for Canada's rights and freedom against the injustice. I just want to thank you for your service of fighting in the dreadful war and keeping our country's freedom and rights.
