Good day, eh, Canadian Forces Member! ;) Wherever you are today, I hope you're surrounded by good company, holding a warm cup of something-or-other, and feeling loved and valued. You are a beacon of resilience and bravery, and your commitment makes this world a better place. By comparison, I complained about the cold to strangers more than once today and I failed to solve Wordle in my six allotted attempts. Keep being a hero. I'll try harder at my end too. xx Jeannine

Good mooooorning Troooooops!!( if you know, you know the movie!) Know that we are ALL, including myself, that we are thinking of you and all that you do for the world!!! We are truly blessed and grateful and know that EVERYONE are thinking about you!! Distance is not an easy thing but wherever you are, we are there too in spirit! I just found out we could reach you, so that was a BIG yes!! ?? I am hoping that your morals and mental health are holding up. I know it’s not an easy task, easy to say “oh yeah” but it’s ok not to feel ok. I hope you have proper support for that there. I wish we could be pen pals and continue exchanging messages. It’s so nice to be able to thank all of you, for your sincere services! It’s a nice day out here and hope the same for you all. Just resting with my pup as I just took a slip and fall, oh it’s not my first rodeo! I’m a little clumsy( it’s ok to laugh), the pain has not kicked in yet! Well it was nice chatting and hopefully my message get to you all! With love and care G

Jeannine VanderBeek - 14/01/2025

It's January 14th, and for a smidgen this morning, my cranky old brain thought I'd forgotten to buy a 7 dollar Hallmark card to mark Valentine's Day. I'll likely still forget about it, but I look forward to that not being today. Last year, hubby and I just happened to be in a store on February 14th, so we found a card we liked, let each other read it, put them back and saved the 14 dollars. This might be surprising to you if you're not married to a Dutchman. Life is good here. Good, but cold. I think I've mentioned I'm not good with cold, so I suspect my Canadian passport to be revoked at any time. My electric blanket is getting some good use this winter so far, as is the seat heater in my car, the hot pocket hand warmers I got for Christmas, and the switch for the fireplace. I used to laugh at how seniors would complain about how cold they were all the time and now I am one. Life comes at you fast. Just to maintain accuracy, the storyteller of my life would have to assume a whiny voice for all the chapters that take place in winter. Some good news this week: 3 of my people report that they received the Christmas cards I sent out. Exactly 36 recipients have yet to report back, so I'm calling the exercise a win. Now go have some tea and get some rest. Later hero. xx Jeannine

I can't thank you enough for everything you do to assist in other countries, but most importantly what you do for this country. We see an everchanging landscape and increase in threats to this place we call home. We appreciate everything you do to keep us safe, keep our borders controlled, and help those in distress during times of natural disasters, wars and domestic escalations. Thank you and stay safe.
