Hello, I am writing this note rather than sending a card, as I usually do, because. The holiday season can be wonderful but it can also be a challenging time when you must spend it away from family. I want you to know that you are in the thoughts of so many who appreciate and are very grateful for your service. I hope that this note brings a little warmth into your day. We know that without your service, our lives would not be the same. Have a very Merry Christmas wherever you are at this time of year. Stay safe.
Dixon family - 05/12/2024

Lucy(8) says she hopes you’re having a good life right now. And Dad says “amen”. Thank you for your service, and Merry Christmas from the Dixon family.

Hi there everyone who are serving Canada at this time of year. You are not forgotten. You are loved and cared for by your family and friends back home. I am very grateful to all of you for serving our country. I hope one day to shake your hands and be able to thank you, all of you. I will continue to pray for all of you to be safe and protected from the enemy. May God continue to bless you and your family this Christmas and New Year.

Dear Soldier,
Hi. Thank you for fighting for our country. You are so brave and strong. We are so lucky to have people like you. I hope you come back the same person as you left as. Were you married before you left? Did you have kids? How old are you?
Sincerely,
Madeleine, age 9

Dear Veteran,
I hope you are doing well. I know you have seen many things and been through rough times. You have probably lost people, and I couldn't believe what you have been through. You have so much bravery protecting us. Waking up in the middle of the night to keep us safe. I thank you. Going through the trauma of fighting in a war must have been hard. It must be painful when you see crosses and Flander's Fields. What do you do when you're touring? Probably something good. I know you will have served good for our country.
Sincerely,
Clay, age 9

Dear Veteran,
You have a lot of bravery to fight in the war. If I fought in the war I would be scared to death, but when you fight you are very brave. A lot of people are very happy that you fight for us. Why did you choose to do it? Have you ever been injured? What year did you start and when do you come back? When you get back do you talk about it a lot with your family?
Sincerely,
Leah, age 9

Good evening Canadian Forces Member!
News-wise, it's been a weird week here in Canada, but I'll spare you the details.
I've hand-written and addressed all my Christmas cards because I live in hope that the mail will move again here soon. To some of my relatives in far-off lands, this card is the only proof-of-life they get from me each year. I'm debating just dropping them in a mailbox tomorrow and let fate take the wheel. When you get to be my age, letting fate drive once in a while is liberating.
Did you eat today? Did you drink something warm and comforting? Take your vitamins? Wash behind your ears? Sorry, once a mom, always a mom.
I hope that you've been able to talk with your family this week. They send their love; as does the rest of Canada.
It's snowing here tonight, and I'm already making plans to not go outside tomorrow because I choose warmth. Once December hits, I basically go to work and the hockey rink and then straight home to my electric blanket.
Wherever you are tonight, my prayer is that you're safe and warm and protected. And if you're currently watching Yellowstone, it's about to get real! Later hero, Jeannine xx

As the holiday season arrives, I wanted to take a moment to wish you a very Merry Christmas. I know that this time of year can be especially challenging when you’re far from home, but please know that you are in the thoughts and hearts of many who are deeply grateful for your service.
Christmas is a time for family, love, and togetherness, and while you may not be able to share those moments with loved ones right now, I hope you can find warmth in the knowledge that your sacrifice and dedication are appreciated by so many. The peace and safety we enjoy are because of brave individuals like you.
I hope you find joy in the little things this season whether it's a smile from a fellow soldier, a quiet moment of reflection, or a message from home. Your strength, courage, and resilience are the greatest gifts you could give, and they are truly cherished.
Please stay safe and know that you are remembered and supported this Christmas, and every day.
