Dear Troops, My name is Alex Lazaro.I am 9 years old.I go to John D.Parker School.Thank you for saving our country.Thank you for everything you’ve done for us.In school we are learning about what soldiers do for our country. Firstly, thank you for fighting for us.Without you our lives would have been in danger.Thank you for making the world a better and safer place.I appreciate that you fought for us even though you suffered.I learned that you go to different countries and help to make them safe too. Additionally, you put your lives in danger for us.You put your life at risk for us. Many soldiers die in the war.I think you are brave to go to war.You must feel sad when some other soldiers get hurt or die.Sometimes you must get very hot, cold and tired. Finally,I think you must have missed your family when you were at war and I imagine they must have missed you too.I miss my family when I am away. You must have been scared when you went to war and your family must have been scared for you too. Thank you for fighting for our country and keeping it safe. Sincerely, Alex Lazaro

To live better because of your help, either you helped build a well, a home or even a garden, they are happy for your help, so are all Canadians. So if you can’t go home for the holidays, I hope you do soon. Have a good Christmas. From Devin

On behalf of my family I wish every member of our Canadian Armed Forces a very Merry Christmas and our hope for a safe and happy New Year. Although our thoughts go out to every Member, we wish to offer a special greeting to all who are posted away from home and family. You are the guardians of all that Canada is, and carry the torch for all the heroes who have gone before you. Be Proud. Be happy. Be safe.

Kevin - 22/12/2016
Toronto, Ontario Canada

Hello. My name is Kevin, I'm 19 and I live in toronto. I wanted to say that I'm proud of all the armed forces members and what they do is vital to preserve our safety and security in Canada. Unfortunately what I've been seeing in most parts of Toronto from multiple people in the Civilian world is a very large distaste for the armed forces and it's really sad to hear and see. How they don't realize how important our Military isand how strong you brave men and women are especially with such a lack of funding and support. I always make sure to defend you guys the best I can remind them that war and violence is always a last resort. Being prepared does not make you guys gun loving violent hicks as some city people would like to think! We have some of the toughest, most skilled most peaceful militaries in the world and I think Urban Canadians should realize this. It's not just 1 or 2 people its tons. Really sad to hear such disrespect. Thank You for keeping us safe and keeping the free Canada alive. Wish they would give you more funding though less then 1% GDP or something like that? I dont support un needed wars but I certainly support proper funding in case something does happen and for better trainning and and preparedness. Thank You so much for serving our country and I hope everyone there and serving overseas has a merry Christmas.

Dear Soldiers, Hi! My name is Grace. I am in grade 7 and I’m from Ontario. We have been talking about this in class. We have heard that you won’t be home for Christmas, but it is a good thing that you are helping in different countries around the word. We just want to thank you for sacrificing yourselves to give us freedom in our country. It is so kind that you are across the seas helping people for the holidays, even though you have to miss Christmas. I bet that the people you are helping right now are so happy because they might not get that much help when they are on their own. I hope that you guys and girls are having lots of fun helping the people who need it. Even though that you have to miss Christmas with your family hopefully you can still spend Christmas with the people that you are helping. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Sincerely, Grace

Dear soldiers My name is colby I am an 8th grade student from Delhi Public School and I am writing this letter to tell u how thankful I am for you guys who serve for our country and risk your lives in most cases to make Canada a proud and peaceful country. We try our best to make you feel like hero’s for example my family show our respect on the highway of hero’s every year. All of you are sent onto the battle field and most of you aren’t expected to survive on the front lines or in planes. Sometimes the battle field can be dangerous and traumatizing. I can imagine what it’s like to be in your shoes but that’s why you protect and fight so we don’t have to and that takes a lot of bravery and encouragement to all of you out there best of luck and stay safe if you can Sincerely colby

Dear Military Personnel, It’s sad that the troops overseas can’t see their families for the holidays. I’m wishing families didn’t have to go through the sadness of losing a loved one. I can’t imagine the heartbreak! I’m wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope 2017 brings you luck and good will. Have a happy holiday! I hope you are able to tell your families that you love them and are sad to be away from them for the holidays but when your mission is done you can go back and be with your loved ones and be happy and safe with them. I wish you have a great time and think about good and safe things while in troubled times and I wish you the best of luck when you are away for a long time. I love what you do for us and you protect us and our families but you have families waiting for you and wishing you the best of luck! I want to say again Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I hope that all of you have a safe, peaceful Christmas and a happy new year. Same goes for all of your family’s. I hope you all go home to your loved ones soon and safely. From Marley.
